Some nets are made using polyester, but such nets are not as durable as nylon nets.

In some cases, nets are made of nylon and steel cables.

And there are three kinds of nets: indoor nets, outdoor nets, and portable nets.

Indoor nets are usually made up of nylon and steel cords, also used in professional and competitive tournaments.

Portable nets are made of high-quality vinyl, making them more durable and stable.

There are five easy steps to set up a net:

First Step: Measurement

The very first step is to measure the whole court.

Because the net is set up 2 feet 6 inches above the court surface.

Similarly, the net’s dimensions must be at least 5 feet in the middle and 5 feet 1 inch higher than the poles.

And the mesh of a regular net must be 15 to 20 mm thick.

Second Step: The Hardware

Secondly, you need to assemble all its poles.

These poles are usually made up of aluminum.

Also, know that all poles hold different setups according to their styles.

But here, all you need to do is set up the poles in the ground.

Then tie the net to these aluminum poles at the indicated or the end.

Third Step: The Stake

Stakes help you to secure and set the net poles into the ground.

But before doing so, measure your net, which must measure approximately 5 feet high in the middle and 5.1 feet above the metal poles.

Fourth Step: The Boundaries

Now you need to lay the boundaries for gameplay and try to mark them with rope, flagging tape, or chalk.

But remember to mark these boundaries according to the singles and doubles gameplay.

Fifth Step: The Lines

The last step is marking the center, short, and long service lines, which run parallel to the net.

The short service line is 6 feet 6 inches from the net, while the long service line is 2 feet 6 inches from the backline of the net.

Remember to mark these lines on both sides of the court.

And the centerline in the middle of the service court is drawn perpendicular to the net.
