What Is T-Joint Technology In Badminton Rackets?

A badminton racket generally has five parts- a stringed area, frame, throat, shaft, and handle.

The upper part of the racket is called the frame, which measures 680 mm in length and 230 mm in width.

On the other hand, the shaft is the racket’s part that links the handle to the head. It is usually made of steel, aluminum, carbon, or graphite.

The point where the shaft connects with the racket’s head is called the throat. It is either a triangular piece placed on the racket head’s base or sometimes incorporated directly into the head.

These throats provide little stability and durability to the racket. So to increase the life span of a racket, Yonex has introduced a new technology known as Built-in T-Joint.

So let’s dive in and learn more about this advanced Yonex technology:

T-Joint Technology

Traditional badminton rackets were made in two-piece frames and used to be weak in the point of the racket. Those rackets used to be made up of materials other than carbon and were slightly heavy compared to the new-generation badminton rackets.

Whereas, T-Joint means the racket which is jointless. It will be of a single piece; the badminton head and the shaft are made of the same material.

Built in T-Joint

T-Joint refers to the joint that helps to connect the frame to the shaft and is embedded with carbon particles to reduce vibration and strengthen the fusing of the two. This construction reduces torque from both the frame and shaft and the lateral twisting of the frame in off-center shots for a better transfer of power and control.

T-joint makes the structure of the racket more stable and durable. Also, it improves badminton’s control performance and integrates the racket structure.

Rather than T-Joint, Yonex lately introduced its advanced form, which is known as New Built-in T-Joint, which refers to:

New Built in T-Joint

‘NEW’ Built-in T-Joint is manufactured from a special lightweight plastic combined with epoxy resin and foaming agent that enhances quality and performance by increasing the stability of the shuttle on the string bed and through the air.

New Built in T-Joint

Most Yonex badminton rackets hold a New built-in T-Joint, which helps eradicate uncomfortable vibration by adding a shock-absorbing element into its frame. It aids players in having better-controlled shots by making them more comfortable.

Final words

Built-in T-Joint and New Built-in T-joint are both technologies introduced by Yonex. Built-in T-Joint rackets are jointless, meaning that the shaft and racket frame are made of a single material.

On the other hand, the New built-in T-Joint allows the racquet to have a lower weight distribution.

Rather than this, these technologies enhance the stability, power, durability, and flexibility of badminton rackets.
